The Histology Section at UPHS – Marquette Laboratory provides a full compliment of routine H&E and immunohistochemical stains for tumor diagnosis in addition to Tissue Consultations, Frozen Sections, and a weekly Tumor Board presentation that is electronically broadcast across the Upper Peninsula.
All testing performed is available as either full service or with technical only components for routine, immunohistochemistry, and special stains for all tissue types.
The Histology Section participates in CAP proficiency testing programs and is accredited by The Joint Commission.
The Histology Section is staffed Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. In addition, there is Saturday shift coverage to handle all stat cases to provide timely diagnosis and patient treatment.
